AVVB will participate in two fall leagues in 2010: the South Metro League for girls in grades 4-6 and the Northern Lights Middle School League for girls in grades 7-8. See the Program Summary page for more information about the fall leagues.
October 12 is Poster Night

The AVHS volleyball team cordially invites all players in the Apple Valley Juniors volleyball program to come to their match on Tuesday, October 12 against the Burnsville Blaze. All junior players wearing their Apple Valley team jerseys will be admitted to the game for free. Game time is 7 p.m., but you are welcome to watch the JV and B teams at 5:30 p.m. too.
This game is also poster night, and the varsity players will be signing team posters in the lobby after the game. Juniors players are invited to stay after the match, grab a poster, and visit with the high school players.
The AVHS volleyball team has had a fun and successful year and would love to have younger players visit the gym and cheer them on.
Fall League Teams in Action

The Apple Valley Volleyball 12 and under teams played in South Metro Volleyball League games last night. Pictures of the Apple Valley Brown team have been posted to SmugMug.
Note: I made a mistake and did not set the ISO sensitivity of my camera to the right level; so the pictures are not as sharp as they could have been. Parents of fall league players who have pictures from games can post them to SmugMug via email. Get the address and password by sending email to webmaster@applevalleyvolleyball.com.
Middle School League Underway

The Northern Lights Middle School League began play yesterday. All four Apple Valley teams were in action. Check out the results on Real Time Results. At the pull down menu labeled "Tournaments", select "NL Fall Youth & Middle School League Date 1"

South Metro Volleyball League Starts Tonight

The under 12 fall league begins play this evening. Apple Valley has two teams participating. See the Fall League Schedules or go directly to the SMV website for times and locations.
Tryouts Held for Fall Leagues, Teams Formed
July 15, 2010 (Updated July 20)
Fifteen girls entering grades 4-6 and over thirty girls entering 7th and 8th grades tried out for fall league teams. Players have been informed of the results of the tryouts. If you made a team, there will be a mandatory parent meeting on Monday, August 2, at 6pm at AVHS. Practices will begin on August 16. See the August calendar for a complete list of August practice dates. Practices will resume in September and are tentatively scheduled for Sundays from noon to 2pm at the AVHS gym.
