2012 Apple Valley Juniors Volleyball Coaches
AVVB is pleased to announce the selection of their coaches for the 2012 season.
Jen Moore
Coach AVVB 16-1s
Jen played volleyball through high school and at the University of MN, Morris. She has coached for over 10 years with several different programs as she moved to different parts of the city. Starting as a junior in college she coached the St Francis 10th grade team. Then she spent 4 years coaching freshman and some 17U juniors with Rosemount. Since then she has spent the last few years coaching juniors as a group of girls have moved from 12s, through 14s, and now 16s.
Katie Tikalsky
Coach AVVB 16-2s
Katie returns for a second year coaching for AVVB. Katie was a 3 year starter for New Prague High School. She played JO's for Northern Lights for 5 years. She has played all positions on the court from being a setter for a season in high school, to being a libero for Northern Lights; however, her main position was right side hitter. Katie went on to play volleyball in college at Augsburg. She also had the opportunity to study abroad where she played volleyball in Australia for a semester which was a great experience. Since college, Katie has played in a few leagues here and there just for fun and now she is excited to turn over from playing to a new role in coaching. Katie's coaching history starts at New Prague. She helped with various summer leagues throughout high school/college. She also coached the varsity team for two years in their summer leagues. Katie graduated in 2010 from Augsburg with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration and a minor in Accounting. She is currently working for Oracle as an ERP Sales Consultant.
Kelley Gowling
Coach AVVB 14-1s
Kelley returns for a second JO season with AVVB. Kelley also coached the JV team at AVHS for a second year as well. Kelley has NCAA Division III experience as both a head coach (Washington College, Chestertown, MD) and assistant coach. She's also planned, organized, and ran volleyball camps and clinics at the Naval Academy, University of Connecticut, and Delaware.
Meaghan Martin
Coach AVVB 14-2s
This is Meaghan's second year coaching juniors girls volleyball and second year with AVVB. She has also coached teams for AVVB in the Fall Leagues. Meaghan started playing school volleyball in fourth grade and quickly moved into the world of traveling volleyball. She played club ball in Oregon through elementary school and then her family moved to Florida. In Florida she found herself fully embracing the setting position and started playing for Club 4-U, where they attended multiple regional championships and Junior Olympics. As a sophomore, Meaghan headed off to boarding school and led her team to the New England Championships three years in a row. She attended Denison University in Granville, OH and helped start the school's club team her junior year. Along with playing on the club team, she also participated in both sand and indoor co-ed intramurals. Meaghan currently plays recreation volleyball through Apple Valley Rec. Meaghan is employed full-time at Palomino Pet Hospital as a veterinarian assistant
Alexandra Anderson
Coach AVVB 14-3s
Alexandra returns to AVVB for a second year. She comes to us from Hamline University and prior to that Minneapolis South High School. She has played volleyball since 6th grade and is very excited to bring her experience to our players. She has coached juniors and volleyball camps for the past several years.
Lynne Chung
Coach AVVB 12s
Lynne returns to coach for AVVB for a second year. She is a full time student in her third year at Hamline University. She is an English major and secondary education minor. Lynne graduated from Apollo High School. Lynne has been playing volleyball since sixth grade. She played four years of Junior Olympic volleyball for Granite City and is currently playing volleyball at Hamline University. Lynne has worked at the Hamline Volleyball camp and had also assisted in the Kaboom VolleyballCamp for junior high students in her hometown of St. Cloud. She has also assisted in coaching on a couple Granite City JO teams.
